Weight Loss Secrets

What you are about to read in this article should not shock you; however it should guide you towards weight loss success. We all have to start somewhere and so we have a tendency to jump in on different fad diets and weird training programs. Before you spend another cent on anything that looks, sounds or feels appealing please read this to better your understanding of weight loss.

In the end the approach to weigh loss should never be a short blitz. You may see on some television shows how people drop weight in a short amount of time. This is not healthy. If you want to drop the fat and keep it off you will need to also build some muscle to elevate the amount of calories you burn on a daily basis while dropping the fat. Putting on a little muscle will elevate your metabolism. This means that an internal weight flux will happen and the scale will not be able to truthfully tell you the accurate weight loss progress. On top of that, the scale may interfere with you psychologically because it is possible to start shrinking in all the right places and yet still weigh about the same. This is where some give up.

So, step one of the weight loss secrets is to realize that fat should not be taken off fast, you should not follow the scale and it is a good idea to put on some muscle as you are in the process of weight loss. To keep track of how much fat you have on your body with better accuracy go by the handheld electronic body fat loss monitor. All though it is not always accurate, it is still better than the scale. If you still end up going on the scale to weigh yourself, limit it to once every six weeks.

Step two of the weight loss secrets is to never drop the caloric intake to very low levels. This will tax your body beyond the norm while exercising or working out. Keep it simple in the beginning when it comes to food. Have a breakfast lunch and dinner with a snack somewhere in between the breakfast and the lunch. Try to limit the sugars and stick to more lean meat dishes with vegetables. The heaviest meals should come earliest in the day and as the day progresses the meals need to become lighter.

Weight loss is not rocket science. It just takes patience and repetition. Once you understand the basics and get away from the ever changing new fads, trends and infomercials you will be able to make decisions with more clarity.

Top 9 Weight Loss Foods

Not all foods make people gain weight. There are some that could actually contribute to weight loss when they are consumed in moderation. The following are the top 9 weight loss foods that are currently making waves within the weight loss industry.

Hummus

Hummus is of Middle Eastern origin. This is a high protein snack that not only fights hunger, but also tastes great, particularly when combined with healthy side snacks, such as vegetables.

Salsa

Just about everyone loves salsa. This spicy side dish is great with tortilla chips, or even margaritas, and it isn't high in calories.

Eggs

Many people are under the impression that egg yolks aren't healthy, but this isn't the case at all. When combined with the yolk, an egg not only has a better taste, but it is also much higher in protein, which allows individuals the chance to stay fuller for longer.

Raw Almonds

Peanut butter might contain large quantities of protein, but almonds tend to be high in vitamin E, as well as antioxidants. What is more, these nuts contain Vitamin B-12 and magnesium, which aids in boosting energy levels within the body.

Chia Seeds

Chia seeds contain high levels of calcium, omega-3, iron and calcium, but they are also great for weight loss. These ingredients actually absorb a lot of the sugar within the body, helping to stabilize the sugar levels and prevent them from being turned into fat. In order to benefit from them, individuals simply need to throw a small handful of them into their breakfast bowl in the mornings.

Parmesan

Parmesan cheese isn't just great on Italian pastas, but it can also be used as a handy tool for losing weight. Some people enjoy peeling slices of this cheese onto their crackers, while others prefer adding some to spice up a salad. Since this is such a strong cheese, a small amount can really go a long way.

Sprouted Grain Bread

Many health professionals prefer this bread to many of the options on the market at the moment, because as they say, sprouted grains tend to be digested by the body much more easily.

Yogurt

Yogurt contains probiotics, which are very well known for aiding in digestion within the body. It has been found that bacteria within the gut could end up contributing to the rate at which fat is absorbed within the body, and by opting for a yogurt that contains these probiotics, individuals can actually control this bacteria and promote weight loss.

Apples

Apples aren't just good for your overall health; they can also help you lose weight. It has been found that individuals who eat an apple before eating their food are less likely to overdo it when it comes to meal time. This alone can do wonders in help them shed pounds.

Losing weight isn't just about cutting back on what you eat; it is about choosing your meals carefully so that you are providing your body with everything that it needs to function optimally.

We are all creatures of habit. How well do I know after weighing as much as 292 pounds and out of breath with every step. It was easy for me to fill up on chocolate cake and ice cream instead eating the healthy meals mother taught growing up. Today I am still a diabetic, but it is not necessary to continue taking glyburide-metformin to control my blood sugars. For more information log onto

Fast Weight Loss

Many people ask me how to lose weight fast, how to get rid of my slob body as fast as possible and a lot more questions about losing weight fast. My only answer is, "I suggest you don't try to lose weight fast". This is because I know the word "fast" for them means 2 or 3 weeks. 95% of the cases where a person loses much weight in 3 weeks or less turns to a disaster afterward.
What I mean is, after burning much fat in 3 weeks, the fat you lost comes back very fast and this time it you will accumulate more fat than before when you eat, that is, you will get even fatter than before. This sounds scary right? There is a solution to this, in fact there are 2 solutions. First, try to lose weight with patience. I know in some cases patience is not possible, but this very safe for you. Next, lose 500 calories or more after you lost weight fast. For example, if you have lost most of your stomach fat in 2 weeks, do not clap your hands but double up the workout to lose even more weight. You should burn at least 500 calories to prevent the fat from coming back. Now, let's explore some cases where weight must absolutely be lost very fast.
Summer beach party
School is closed and it's summer time. TIME TO PARTY! Some friend's of yours have organized a beach party and have invited you. However, being so busy at school made you forget about your body. You notice some serious excess of body fat on you and you start feeling scared. You must be wondering about what the guys/girls will say about you. They will probably make fun of you because you used to look hot with your clothes on at school but this time you will only wear a bikini. You can't possibly go to the beach party which is taking place in 3 weeks. A killer idea hits your mind. This idea put a grin on your face. The idea is to go on a crash diet and workout considerably everyday. Working out is good for you but the crash diet isn't. The crash diet will make you lose weight yes but it is a dangerous way to lose weight. As I said before, you will get even bigger later. In this case, you should only workout. Of course, the right exercises must be done, you can't just run on a treadmill until you puke.
The contest
This case involves any type of contest which requires you to show your body. Well, I have never seen a contest where people are required to show off their body fat and the one with the highest amount of fat wins but I have seen contest where the sexiest person wins. You want to participate in this contest but you are not sexy enough. If you are a woman, you will try a crash diet. In this case, the solution is the same as above. If you are a guy, you will try to overtrain. I know some people who train everyday because they want to lose weight as fast as possible. Overtraining can cause serious damage to your body. Overtaining also helps you build less muscle than regular training. So, you decide. My suggestion is to train only 3 times a week and try to burn as much calories as possible each day.
The no reason case
There are some people who want to lose weight as fast as possible without any reason, they just want to lose weight fast. In this case, my suggestion is to workout 3 times a week, eat healthy food, sleep well, drink 8 glasses of water everyday and try not to consume caffeine and alcohol. Of course, your workout must contain the right exercises in order for you to lose weight.
Now that we have taken a look at some cases you must have identified in which case you are. Do what I suggested and you will have a better body.

Her story is so inspirational that she was actually shown on CNN news on TV. Why was her personal story broadcasted to the world? When her weight peaked to a whopping 133kg (294lbs) at age 23, Angela was frightened of her future. With morbid obesity, uncontrolled over-eating and a diabetes fright, Angela decided that it was time to take action. After reading about the raw food lifestyle, Angela knew that it was the only way to go, and overnight she went 100% raw. Angela lost half of her body weight, and has never looked back since. Today she remains at her ideal body weight of 62kg (137lbs), which she has maintained for many years. She certainly is the goddess of "raw inspiration" for those who wish to lose weight in a healthy manner!
Success Story #2 - Carlene Jones
Carlene Jones is another amazing raw food weight loss success story. At just 5'1" Carlene suffered from morbid obesity throughout her adult life and topped a peak of 120kg (264lbs) when she was at her heaviest. She repeatedly went on diets and lost weight, only to feel depressed and regain it all back afterwards. She was the queen of yo-yo dieting and often engaged in dangerous regimes to lose weight including a combination of drugs, excessive exercise and not eating. She came to the point where she truly believed that she would remain morbidly obese for the rest or her life, and that nothing would ever help her. Then she came across the raw food lifestyle. After plenty of research and reading success stories of others who have gone on the living superfoods diet, Carlene made some miraculous changes in her life. She began her raw food journey and dropped 62kg (136lbs) in just 9 months. That's actually nearly 2 kilos each week! Due to her state of morbid obesity, Carlene was dropping an average of 0.25kg (1/2lbs) per day. She is now alive with energy and feels thin and healthy, something that she has never experienced in her life!
I believe that these two women offer invaluable raw inspiration for overweight persons who wish to engage in a healthy lifestyle to lose weight. Angela Stokes and Carlene Jones were both morbidly obese, but have freed themselves from a life of misery and depression by going on the living food diet. They are not alone in losing weight on this healthy lifestyle - many others have also reaped its benefits. I have been researching the raw food diet for years now and the success stories just keep on flowing in. And losing weight is only one of the benefits of this wonder diet - other results are clear glowing skin, healthy hair, abundant energy and a zest for life. Wow! This can certainly be awarded the "Ideal Lifestyle Diet" of the century!

7 Foods That Prevent Weight Loss

One of the things that successful dieters will tell you is that there is a dark side to the supermarket. When you look beyond the packaging and promotion of certain edibles you quickly begin to realize that some foods are dangerous to your long term health. These foods are usually filled with trans fats which are man made fats used by manufacturers to give foods a longer shelf life. The reality is manufacturers of hydrogenated oil literally molecule into a form that has proven to wreak havoc in the body.
The Following nine foods are foods to avoid or because of the damage they inflict in calories, unhealthy fats and sodium. These foods will not only damage your waistline but they are also potentially dangerous to your long term health in more ways that you can imagine.
1. Cola products - Twelve ounces of a cola based drink usually equals abut 150 calories. Cola based products are full of sugar, corn syrup or other sweeteners. These products have been connected with obesity they bathe your teeth in cavity-promoting sugars. Consuming high calories in liquid form also leads to overeating.
2. Doughnuts - Doughnuts are fried dough and full of sugar, white flour and drenched in trans fat. A typical doughnut weighs in at weighs in at 300 calories and contains few other nutrients besides the 19 grams of fat. Unfortunately, supermarkets are overflowing with these high-calorie, low-nutrient tasty varieties. Avoid them at all costs.
3. Fried Chicken - Although it almost sounds unpatriotic to criticize this popular dish, keep in mind that fried chicken is cooked in highly heated oils most notably, partially hydrogenated oil. These trans fats have been known to cause cancer, weight gain and other serious health risks when consumed regularly. Fried chicken whether served whole or in its nugget variety are unhealthy foods. For example, if you order a ten piece chicken nugget from any popular fast food restaurant you are receiving about 500 calories, 300 grams of fat and usually over 1000 milligrams of sodium. There is no faster way to super-size yourself than to consume fried chicken on a regular basis.
4.Sugary Cereals: Sugar is one of the enemies of successful dieting. Sugary cereals, particularly any cereal where sugar or a sugar substitute is the main ingredient are unhealthy. Ingredients and terms to watch out for are "sweetened" or "dyed." The majority of children's cereals so very highly processed and have almost zero nutritional value. A great alternative is oatmeal served with honey or agave syrup. If you buy pre-packaged oatmeal, check the label and see how much sugar it contains - you will be shocked. Any cereal where sugar is listed as the first ingredient on the box should immediately be shelved. It is a much healthier solution to purchase real grain cereal and sweeten them with fresh fruit like strawberries or blueberries.
5. Processed Meats - One of the fastest ways to create a healthy habit is to do a simple Google search on what is considered to be a processed meat. Almost all processed meats have sodium nitrite added as a preservative. The evidence is staggering, as demonstrated by a recent study showing a 67% increase in pancreatic cancer for people consuming moderate amounts of processed meat on a frequent basis. (Pulse; 4/23/2005, Vol. 65 Issue 16, p10). Traditional medicine believes this is because of the high saturated fat content in the proceesed meat. However research is mounting that it is not the saturated fats themselves but what is actually in those fats that is tocis and dangerous to your health. Health and nutrition researchers claim that toxic chemicals, heavy metals and environmental pollutants that are found inside those fat molecules.
A recent study conducted at the University of Hawaii found that sodium nitrite often acts as a precursor to potent cancer creating chemicals that accelerate the creation of cancer cells. We strongly suggest you read labels on all meat products you purchase. If you see sodium nitrite as a main ingredient shelve the product before it shelves you.
6. Cafe Mocha from Starbucks with whole milk and whipped cream is a very deceptive cup of coffee. Think of it as more as a Double Whopper with Cheese in a glass. Although this drink tastes great it weighs in at 450 calories and 13 grams of bad fat. Nothing worse than a sugar caffeine buzzs that adds to the battle of the waitline bulge.
7. Monosodium glutomate (MSG) - This ingredient is positioned as a preservative. However, it is much more insidious. MSG is actually an ingredient that actually increases your appetite. You ever wonder why you are hungry 30 minutes after eating Chinese food? A great deal of research surrounding MSG also shows that it is addictive. Many successful diets simply promote the idea of getting any and all foods that have MSG in them. Although this sounds simple, if you start reading product labels you will be rudely surprised as to how many products contain this dangerous ingredient.
MSG has many aliases. Here are its dangerous identities and couterparts:
- monopotassium glutamate, glutamic acid, anything that says hydrolyzed (such as hydrolyzed vegetable protein), anything that says Autolized, Calcium caseinate, Sodium caseinate, Yeast extract, Soy protein, wheat protein, whey protein, anything with fortified protein, Textured protein, Gelatin, Soy sauce, Barley malt, malt extract, maltodextrin, Corn syrup, corn starch, dextrose and Citric acid.
The Food and Drug Administration has stated that if you use MSG in a product it must be labeled that way. However, if you use for example, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, which has MSG included in it, it has to be labeled by its common name and not MSG. Read your food and product labels and if you see any of these ingredients on the labels move on.
You want to get healthy and lose weight? Steer clear of these foods. There is a dark side of supermarket. If you ready product labels and avoid these dangerous culprits you will find it much easier to lose weight.
